When was the last time you experienced or enjoyed a simple pleasure or two?
If it takes you more than 30 seconds to answer, then it’s been too long.
Good news is, though, there’s a new inn in Georgia that returns to those simple pleasures we all need (and want) while on vacation.
Located in Waverly, midway between the Golden Isles and St. Marys, is Horse Stamp Inn. Situated on tree-covered property surrounded by green fields, as you approach the property, you soon realize you’re somewhere special.
And that’s exactly how owners/innkeepers Kris and Tom Hutcheson want it to be.
“It’s extremely peaceful and relaxing here. You can hear the birds and the crickets,” comments Tom. “Our location is unique. You can come here and hang out all day, or leave to enjoy all the nearby activities.”
“We are excited to be here, and excited about what the inn can do for the community and Georgia.”
The property offers four rooms and one suite, all named after famous horses. The elegantly appointed rooms have similar features like 600-count linens, feather bed tops, high-speed wireless and flat-screen TVs, yet each provides a different perspective of the inn. For instance, Cimarron, a corner room, provide a view of the front pastures while Dawn Run looks toward the horse pastures. The suite, Seabiscuit has its own private balcony.
Of course, no inn is complete without breakfast and Horse Stamp Inn doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the most important meal of the day. Serving a full southern-style breakfast with recipes that utilize blueberries, pecans and farm fresh eggs (“the eggs are awesome,” says Kris) gathered daily from their chicken coop as well as other local ingredients.
Exploring the property, you’ll discover many unique features like a horse-friendly stable with a four-stall saddle room, an artesian pond where you can drop a line and try to hook bass, brim or fresh-water trout and a brick fire pit, perfect for evening bonfires under the stars.
In addition, there’s a 21-foot boat that can be requested for a three-hour tour to Cumberland Island.
Whether it’s an one-night escape or a weekend getaway, Horse Stamp Inn helps you return to what traveling should be about: simple pleasures.
